How does it work? |
As stated above, interior decorators get preferential prices from a
variety of merchants. As such, the decorator will purchase the item for
you at his/her price, and will sell it to you at the discounted
price plus a fee. This normally results in the customer paying less than
if they were to purchase the item himself. |

Here's an example |
Lets say that you would like to purchase a dinning table at your local
retailer for $1000.
The decorator may be able to purchase that same table for $700 through
his/her trades discount. To this $700, the decorator would charge a fee
(usually 20% ) and resell the table to you.
In this case, you would pay $700 + $140 in fees; for a total of $840.
